Sous les nénuphars

Suddenly, I am a frog. With my heels tucked beneath me, I can move only by hopping. Nature has grown immense around me, like a magic beanstalk in a land of giants. Fortunately, I am home—in the marsh, where a gentle breeze drifts through the reeds and the tall grasses whisper.

Searching for my beloved pond, I lift my eyes to a curious sky where lily pads float just beyond the tip of my nose…

Tilted and fluttering, they cluster together in tangled masses, tumbling over one another. At the heart of this lush abundance blooms a crystalline flower that serves as the sun. Its light dances through the foliage, casting shifting shadows and shimmering reflections across the sweeping curves of the lily pads.

Broad and undulating, they awaken in me an irresistible desire to stretch out upon them and bask in their quiet embrace.
